ERASMUS - information for foreign students

We are glad that you are considering a possible period of study at the Catholic-Theological Private University of Linz (KTU). Students from any of the ERASMUS partner countries (other than Austria) can spend 3 to 12 months studying at the KTU Linz within the framework of the ERASMUS program. Please consult your home university for details of criteria of admission and the application procedure.

The information we provide is as follows:

Enrolment to study at the KTU is possible from mid-September to mid/end October for the winter semester and from mid-February to mid-March for the summer semester. Please consult our calendar for the exact dates.

To enrol, you need to present the following documents:

  • university entrance qualification
  • birth certificate
  • passport

As an aid to putting your personal course of study together, a full list of lectures is available in good time. If you need help or advice, please get in touch with the rector’s office or the dean of studies.

If you wish to take part in a language course “German for foreigners“, the courses run by the Johannes-Kepler-University of Linz are open to you free of charge. Details of these courses are available on the internet: http://www.jku.at
Accomodation is available at reasonable rates in the two student hostels run by the Katholische Hochschulgemeinde. In particular, the Petrinum hostel is not far from the KTU and would be convenient for you.
As the KTU is a small university, we do not organize an introductory event for new arrivals. However, the student representatives are at your disposal at any time, and will do their best to help you feel at home in Linz. The person to contact is Stefan Dorninger.
